About Albany KTC

Albany Karma Thegsum Chöling Tibetan Buddhist Meditation and Study Center (Albany KTC) offers Calm-Abiding meditation instruction as well as traditional Karma Kagyu Lineage teachings about the Dharma. Practice is emphasized. New comers to Buddhism are always welcome.

We are affilitated with Karma Triyana Dharmachakra Monastery and Retreat Center (KTD) located at 335 Meads Mountain Road, Woodstock, NY 12498, telephone (845) 679-5906 extension 10 or email to office@kagyu.org. Albany KTC was established in 1979 by His Holiness the XVI Karmapa, head of the Karma Kagyu Lineage, and is under the spiritual guidance of Ven. Bardor Tulku Rinpoche and Ven. Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche, the resident lamas at KTD.

Membership

By donating or becoming a member of Albany KTC, you help to keep the precious Buddhist teachings and the rich tradition of the Karma Kagyu Lineage available in the Albany area. Operation costs of Albany KTC are funded entirely by donations and contributions from supporting friends and members. We try and keep our operating costs low and teachings admission fees low, but we need your help. Your donation goes a long way to help the dharma flourish and continue to benefit beings that come in contact with it.
Albany Karma Thegsum Chöling is a 502(c)3 nonprofit organization. All donations and membership dues are tax deductible.

Associate Member

Individual $15/month
Entitled to full KTC benefits.

KTC Benefits include: Discounts on teachings given by visiting lamas, a 10% discount on items sold at Albany KTC, free teachings given by fellow members, and limited participation in KTC elections, but does not include discounts at Karma Triyana Dharmachakra.

Full Member

Individual $30/month, Family $45/month.

Entitled to full KTC benefits as well as full membership benefits at Karma Triyana Dharmachakra (KTD).

KTD Benefits include: discounts for KTD teachings, 10% discount at the Namsebangdzo bookstore at KTD, room and board discounts at KTD, a subscription to the KTD magazine, Densal, and full participation in KTC elections.
