Lama Karma Chopal led the Albany KTC sangha and our friends in creating a Green Tara sand mandala Friday January 18 - Sunday January 20. Lama Chopal effortlessly instructed participants, many of whom that had never worked on a sand mandala, throughout the weekend.
A Green Tara Puja was held Monday, January 21. Finally, the mandala was swept up and the sand poured into the nearby Normanskill Creek.
Mandalas are visual representations of particular aspects of our minds, and are used to aid in visualizations done by Tibetan Buddhist practitioners.
